Qtum (QTUM) is a decentralized public smart contract platform geared for high-performance enterprise needs. Employing what they call PoS version 3, QTUM has carved itself a place in the digital economy with a UTXO based Staking mechanism. Additionally, in the Qtum environment, there is no minimum requirement to stake, accordingly, the odds of receiving the next block rewards are percentage proportionate of the total network control.
Qtum offers its own (VM) virtual machine (the X86) for the deployment and operations of smart contracts; however, it is cross-compatible with the (EVM) Ethereum-Virtual-machine.
