Colored Coins

Colored Coins is an (outdated) method of tokenization and digital asset management on the Bitcoin blockchain. The system is simple, real world assets are represented as digital tokens; those tokens can be redeemed for the real assets. Colored Coins themselves are not additional tokens that get baked into the network, instead they are tokens that are built on top of the Bitcoin Tokens. One unit of account can have a batch of 50 units within it. The advantage of using Bitcoin’s blockchain as the backbone for digital asset tokenization leverages the inherent strengths of the Bitcoin network, such as immutability, non-counterfeitability, ease of transfer, robustness and transparency thus allowing asset manipulation with unprecedented security and ease.
