Byte

A byte is the second smallest unit for the measurement of computational complexity. A byte is typically a grouping of 8 bits of binary information.

In the history of computer science, A byte was the number of bits that were required to encode a single text character; which is precisely why a byte is the most common the smallest unit of memory in many of today’s computer architectures.
