AUM

Assets Under Management

AUM is the acronym for Assets Under Management.

The term AUM is used to refer to the total amount of value that a single entity is responsible for.

Assets Under Management is typically used for financial institutions such as Banks, Hedge Funds, Mutual Funds but can also be used for any other entity such as a hardware company (Apple). AUM can calculated using liquid assets such as Cash, as well as, illiquid assets such as the property value or any combination thereof.

example:
The international Bank of Bitcoin hold 10 Bitcoin for every client. They Have 1000 Clients. Each Bitcoin is worth $10,000. So, to find the International Bank of Bitcoin’s AUM we just need to multiply the amount of assets (10,000 BTC) by the value of each asset ($10,000). Doing so we arrive at 10,000 x 10,000 = $100,000,000.
